Mark Armstrong

Dr Armstrong participates in both the didactic and clinical instruction of PA students. He has been a core lecturer in anatomy, physiology and surgical topics since the inception of the program.

 

Education:

Dr Armstrong received a Bachelors of Science in biology from the University of Scranton and was awarded his Doctorate of Medicine from Temple University in Philadelphia in 1988. He completed his residency training in general surgery at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh in 1993.

Certification & Experience:

Dr. Armstrong practices general surgery at the 2 hospitals in the vicinity of Lock Haven University. He has been a preceptor for PA students since the inception of the program and in 1998 became a member of the teaching faculty as well.

Education:

Lori completed her Associate Degree in Medical Secretarial Science at the Williamsport School of Commerce in 1994.

Experience:

Lori began working at Lock Haven University in 1995 in the Office of Grants and Sponsored Research. Lori began working with the Physician Assistant Program in July of 1996, the inaugural year of the program. Lori is responsible for the coordination of all aspects of the PA students’ education, from the Admissions process through Graduation and following up with Alumni from the program.

Education:
Lane completed her Physician Assistant education from Hahnemann Medical College and Hospital now Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pa. in 1981 and Masters of Health Science from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. in 2004.

Certification:
Lane has been certified by the National Commision on Certification of Physician Assistants since 1982. She is licensed to practice medicine as a Physician Assistant by the state of Pennsylvania.

Experience:
Lane worked as a surgical physician assistant from 1981-1994 in multiple practices in the Philadelphia, Pa. area and returned to Williamsport, Pa. in 1993. Lane worked for Susquehanna Health System in surgery and the emergency department untill 2001 when she accepted an emergency department job as the first PA in the hospital at Ephrata Community Hospital, Ephrata, Pa. She continues to do part time employment there at present since taking the position here in August, 2006.

Lane  has been involved with teaching PA students since graduation  teaching physical diagnosis, emergency medicine, surgery and taking students for rotations in surgery and emergency medicine.

Offices:
Lane has served in the Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants in numerous roles including President from 1999-2000. and continue as Laisson to the Department of Health and serves on the CME committee for the conference.

Lane has served the since 1995 as Delegate to the House of Delegates for the American Academy of Physician Assistants representing Pennsylvania PA's at the Annual Conference

Education:

Walt completed his Physician Assistant Training at Hahnemann University in 1984 and a Masters of Medical Science Degree from St Francis University in 1997. He completed a post graduate surgical residency program at Norwalk Hospital/Yale School of Medicine from which he recently was presented the Frank Scanlon Alumni achievement award.

Certification & Experience:

Walt has maintained national certification as a physician assistant since 1984 and continues part time clinical practice in addition to his responsibilities in the program.

Experience:

Director of the Lock Haven University PA program since 2000 and has been with the program since it started in 1996 an has served as both the clinical coordinator and academic coordinator prior to assuming the directorship of the program. In addition he has over 20 years of clinical practice experience.

Offices:

Professor Eisenhauer has served in numerous leadership roles within both state and national professional organizations including the Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants and the Association of Physician Assistant Programs (APAP). Professor Eisenhauer is currently serving in his second term as an APAP Director at Large. Mr. Eisenhauer has delivered presentations at National meetings for PA educators on topics ranging from the use of technology in PA education to organizational governance.

Education:

Ms. Gibson is a 2004 graduate of Lock Haven University with a bachelors degree in accounting and management science. Ms. Gibson began her tenure in the fall of 2004.

Experience:

Candace Gibson is a relatively new addition to the PA Program Staff. Ms. Gibson serves as an administrative assistant for both the PA Program Director and the clinical coordinator. Ms. Gibson’s role in the PA Program is to assist the program director in overall program administration and additionally to provide administrative and logistics support for the Clinical Coordinator. Being a native of central Pennsylvania Ms Gibson is very familiar with the healthcare resources within the community.

Michael Greenberg

Education:

Dr Greenberg completed his undergraduate education at Penn State University and was awarded a Doctorate of Medicine from the George Washington School of Medicine in 1969. In addition to his studies in Medicine Dr Greenberg received his MBA from the Wharton School of Business in 1987.

 

 

Experience:

Dr. Greenberg has over 30 years experience employing physician assistants in a rural primary care setting. His experience with PA utilization has been recognized by the American Academy of Physician Assistants where he has served as a consultant.

In addition to his responsibilities as the Medical Director for the program Dr Greenberg is active as a preceptor for PA students and as an advocate for the profession. Dr Greenberg is a commissioner for the Accreditation Review Committee for the Education of Physician Assistants (ARC-PA). He serves on the Executive Council of that Organization in the role of Treasurer

Education:

Curtis is a 2003 graduate of The Pennsylvania State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology.  In 2006 he was awarded a Master of Science in Health Sciences from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where he completed the Physician Assistant Program.

Certification & Licensure:

Curtis obtained his national certfication as a physician assistant through the National Commision on Certification of Physician Assistants in 2006.  He is licensed to practice medicine as a physician assistant in the state of Pennsylvania.

Experience:

Curtis has experience in the fields of general surgery and orthopedic surgery as a physician assistant.  He has also had the opportunity to teach PA students as a preceptor and during job shadowing experiences.  In addition, he gained experience in phlebotomy and histopathology during summer internships while in school.

 Mr. Leffert has been a practicing physician assistant since 1981. He graduated the U.S. Navy Physician Assistant program in 1981. Prior to becoming a PA he was an Operating Room technician and then became an Independent Duty Hospital Corpsman serving onboard submarines as the sole medical provider for the crew. He has worked in a variety of medical specialties. Facial truama, Otolaryngology, Occupational Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Pediatrics. He has also worked with victims of abuse.
 

Mr. Leffert has had three original medical articles published in the PA professional journals. Currently a member of the Pennsylvania Rural Health Association and Physician Assistant Education Association.  He received the Student's Choice Award for a faculty member 2006-2007 from the Student Cooperative Council, Lock Haven University.

 Mr. Leffert joined the faculty in 2003 and was tenured in 2008.

Anna Mae is a 1987 graduate of the Hahnemann University Physician Assistant Program and received her Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska in 1998.

 

Experience:

Anna Mae currently serves as the academic coordinator for the PA program where she is responsible for overall coordination of the curriculum and student evaluation. She maintains a part time clinical practice at Clinton Medical Associates and Healthy Concepts. Anna Mae completed a pediatric residency program at Norwalk Hospital/Yale School of Medicine in 1988 and has significant clinical experience in women's health, ophthalmology and occupational medicine.

A graduate of the Temple School of Pharmacy Dr Widmann completed his Doctorate in Pharmacy degree from the Duquesne University School of Pharmacy.

Experience:

Dr Widmann is a clinical pharmacologist who has served as the PA programs principle lecturer in pharmacology, pathophysiology and clinical therapeutics since 1996.  Dr Widmann has completed numerous presentations and published numerous article on various topics in Pharmacology over the past decade. He serves on the PA Program admissions and curriculum committee.
